IPDA086/IPDA101: Why the app or the system sometimes freezes?

It is usually caused by resource exhaustion (e.g., insufficient memory), software conflicts, excessive cache, or system bugs.

Here are the short troubleshooting steps, listed in order of operation:

1. Force Restart 
   • Press and hold the power button until the device shuts down and restarts. This resolves most temporary freezes.
2. Free Up Storage Space
   • Check if the storage is full. It is recommended to keep more than 10% free space. Delete unused apps, large files, or clear cached garbage.
3. Close Background Processes
   • Running too many applications simultaneously consumes a lot of memory. Closing unused background software can free up resources.
4. Update Software
   • Check for system or driver updates. Developers often fix known bugs that cause lag.
5. Uninstall Recently Installed Software
   • If the freezing started after installing a specific app, try booting into safe mode (or simply uninstall the software) to rule out software conflicts.
6. Check for Overheating
   • Ensure the device has adequate ventilation. Overheating can cause the CPU to throttle down, leading to lag.

If none of the above methods work, you may need to consider a factory reset in settings>system>reset options>factory reset.
